The top calls I receive on this equipment is print quality problems. Clearly, this equipment is getting on in age. I’ve found that more and more of the ones I see outside in the field are used as back up pieces of equipment or have found their way into individuals offices. They do not get the usage they use to generate and the drums are no longer reach their life cycles and are breaking down ahead of time.

Mention : Drum difficulties will show on PRINTS and COPIES. Should the print quality circumstances only develop on copies like dark streaks or streaks that are blank then you might need to examine your scanner optics and glass.

Savin 920SPF Possible Signs of Drum Failure

1. In the event that your machine is placing a streak or streaks, some times fine, and other times an inch or more in width on prints and copies, you most likely have a cleaning blade or recovery blade in the drum going out. Now if it’s just on copies you very well may just want to check your glass slit.

2. Also, for those who have a gray background to your prints and copies, that may be yet another sign your drum is going out.

3. Repetitive defectives which occur at detailed repeated spaces are often the result of a nick or scrape within the drum surface which will need a drum replacement. Note : Fusers might also cause repetitive defects.

Initialization
Note : It is extremely vital that you permit the piece of equipment run through this procedure if you require suitable print quality once you put in a new drum. Inability to perform this may lead to poor print quality and a potential service call to have a tech come out and preform this process through service mode.
After you turn on the main power switch, the copier automatically initializes the new PCU. When the copier is executing initialization, use caution:
• Do not turn off the main power switch.
• Do not open or remove exterior covers.
