The most calls I get on these machines are print quality situations. Definitely, these machines are getting on in age. I have discovered that more and more of the ones I see outside in the field are utilized as back up equipment or have found their way into peoples offices. They do not get the utilization they use to get and the drums are no longer hit their life cycles and are wearing down ahead of time.

Note : Drum conditions will show on PRINTS and COPIES. If your print quality complaints only come about on copies like dark lines or streaks that are blank then you might wish to inspect your scanner optics and glass.

Lanier LD015F Possible Signs of Drum Failure

1. If you find that your machine is generating a streak or streaks, some times fine, and other times an inch or maybe more in width on prints and copies, you almost certainly have a cleaning blade or recovery blade in the drum going out. Now if it’s just on copies you very well may want to examine your glass slit.

2. Furthermore, should you have a gray background to your prints and copies, that’s yet another sign your drum is going out.

3. Repetitive defectives that occur at set repeated places are often the result of a nick or scratch on the drum surface that may demand a drum replacement. Note : Fusers can also cause repetitive defects.

Initialization
Note : It’s extremely important that you permit the equipment run through this process if you want suitable print quality after you install a new drum. Inability to achieve this can bring about poor print quality and a possible service call to have a tech show up and do this procedure by way of service mode.
After you turn on the main power switch, the copier automatically initializes the new PCU. When the copier is executing initialization, use caution:
• Do not turn off the main power switch.
• Do not open or remove exterior covers.
